Hi there my 147 is coming up for 90k service so need someone who knows what they're doing.
I'm in Devon area between Exeter and Plymouth.
Not sure about the dealer in Exeter for a service might be incredibly costly?
Main thing is the cambelts etc I think.
Any recommendations welcome please!

Vospers in Exeter will be an appalling cost.. How far are you willing to travel?

I'm based over in East Devon, and have yet to find a local place I really trust for the big stuff..

There's a small Alfa specialist in Umberleigh, but that's a bit of a trek from south of Exeter... Never used them myself either, so couldn't comment either way...

RPM Motor Services in Seaton would be my local choice if I had to use someone close.. Ask for Roy, he used to run Auto Italiana in Exeter before they closed down. Did my clutch about 44k ago, and were very helpful when I turned up unannounced with a broken car

All that being said, I drove over to Autolusso in Bournemouth for my last big service.. Bit of a drive, but worth it for all the extra knowledge (go the swirl flaps and alternator done whilst the cambelt was off)...

Ned - fancy setting up a shop in Exeter ;)

Ah cheers!

I'm booked n with NE Vehicles Plymouth for cambelt change...

They are Alfa and fiat specialists despite the company name title!

I've heard perfect Service in Newton Abbot (close to yourself) are well recommended too...

What are these 'swirl flaps' you speak of please?

And I did notice your 'status' too!!! :biglaugh:

NE Vehicles in Plymouth are excellent. They've done some work for me recently and I can't fault them. Perfect Service in Newton Abbot have been servicing (and repairing) my Fiats and Alfa's for the past 20 years - highly recommended.

The devil's own creation.

A wonderful feature on the CF4 version 1.9 JTDm engine, which tend to break off and ruin/damage any and/or all of the following:

1. Valves
2. Valve seats
3. Pistons
4. Cylinder liner
5. Turbo charger
6. Catalytic converter

Nothing you have to worry about with a petrol mind
