I am finally edging more closer to owning my very first Alfa. I have 5K just another 3 to go + my car to get me a 2009 159 Diesel.

Probaly will have to play the waiting game for the right one to come along in black with cream leather and low milage.

See if Gary in Tracta can sort me out!

Good man! I'm assuming you're doing it old school and saving up rather than borrowing?
Good for you!!!!
A much more sustainable model.
Do hope you get what you're after.

Cheers,

Ya I rather just save it for it and pay it all there and then and have no finance on the car. The amount of people who are trying there level best to get me to change my mind is getting annoying.

I am 25 next year so I rather have it while I am young and hopefully wont have any major problems with the car.

This DPF issue seems to be the biggest problem of all on the 159, should I really get it removed?

Smile and politely ignore them!
I think do some (a lot of) research on the DPF before committing to removing it.
Often that treatment stuff they use to clear them out does the trick.

My car is an 05 Leon and want to go up at least 4 years and a 09 Diesel is about 10K probably go down next year again hopefully. Tax on Diesel is €447 but not to bad as I am paying €365 so no major difference. My insurance will only be extra €100 or so as I work for AxA.

Ya I want to buy it to prove them all wrong!!

Fair play on holding out and saving I regret not doing the same when I was your age, if I had of been a bit more patient I would have been debt free for the next 3 years and who knows I might of changed my mind and bought a 147 instead of a god awful and dangerously slow '00 1.4 golf

I was 25 when I bought my black 159 diesel. I bought in the UK to get the spec I wanted. It was my biggest purchase ever, but reckoned I wont be buying a house for a long time, so might as well buy something I can enjoy for a few years. Still havent looked back. I had the dpf internals removed on mine, but regret not getting the EGR delete at the same time.

you can get a Masaratti 3200 for like 7k now. or there was a Ferrari Daytona convertible on carzone for 15k. failing that. Fiat coupe turbo (tune it to 500whp)

Dan might have to get you to quote me on the new motor when its up... give me a shout during the week so i know what im looking at price wise.

That Daytona is a kit car replica as far as I know :)
It's a Mondial not a Daytona and I think you're mixing it up with the MR2 based 308 replica.
It looks a genuine Ferrari to me but will still be VRTable so factor that into one's budget!

I saw that as well but there actually is a navy replica convertible Daytona knocking about as well.
