The sun was shining through the back of my Spider & for the first time saw that the 3 little vents under the temp control on the left side are open behind,the right hand vents are not. Is this where the temperature sensor for the cabin lives?

I believe so yes. I've read a thread on here about sometimes this needs cleaning if the heaters start playing up!

It is worth cleaning them (cotton bud) at least once a year.
