I have a very beautiful metallic black 3.2 V6 GT. It's really a wonderful car but having just moved to Manchester city center and working within walking distance of work, I'm not sure I can warrant the insurance costs anymore.

So, tentatively, how much is it worth?

* 54 plate with around 38k miles
* metallic black, front bumper freshly resprayed this week (stone chips)
* 18" multispokes
* cream leather interior
* Sat Nav +, Bose with subwoofer, 10 CD changer in the boot and telephone
* full Alfa and Veloces service history
* totally immaculate inside and out aside from a minor mark on the armrest (from my watch), wheels are unmarked
* 11 months tax
* a very cherished vehicle - never in an accident, washed and waxed regularly and always garaged
* newely installed clutch cylinders and headlight washer
* cambelt and water pump less than 6 months ago

i've loved and cherished it and it run flawlessly.

So.. What does anyone think its worth?

Appologies for the typos in that last post, I'm on my phone at the moment so I can't go back and edit it.

For what it's worth, the previous owner was a luxury yacht test pilot so spent the majority of it's time sitting in his garage. When I bought it, it had been sitting for a while so it went through a very thorough service (by Veloces). Performance and that exhaust note are simply astounding, as some on here will know. It still never fails to put a grin on my face every time I catch a glance of it or push the accelerator.

It's totally unmolested, stock and original.

shame it aint got a Q2 but i would assume around £9,000 to £9,500 if she is as good as you say. just check auto trader to see what the market is like at present.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ibhad hoped the girl might be worth a little more but I guess the economy isn't exactly great for selling right now. At those sorts of prices I'd likely just keep her - I can't afford to have lost that much in her value whilst I've owned her.

Funnily enough I was considering a 147 to replace her - something smaller but ideally still with the leather/phone. My mrs wants me to buy a mini instead...!

My wife loves hers and as a result, her next car purchase at the end of this year will be complicated.

I got it evaluated today by the local Alfa specialists. Their trade in wasn't bad, but suggested I should expect around £10,500 - £11,500 in a private sale, so that's more what I was expecting.

For reference, this is almost identical to mine:

Mine's four months older, has 10k fewer miles, and mine has the Sat Nav +, Bose, telephone. Other than that it looks to be an identical specification (although of course that's a trade seller). I forgot to mention previously that it also had new discs and pads front and back at the same time as the cambelt (6 months ago).

I'll probably stick it up for sale at that and see if anybody bites, otherwise I'll just keep it and enjoy it when I can

There are so few for sale at present that you could easily hold out for £11,000 and perhaps a little more. As told by an Alfa dealer recently these cars are actually going up in price at the moment. It's sounds a really nice car and with a great colour combination

Well, I took the plunge and put it up on a classified on here. I should just say, I'd misquoted the mileage when I started this thread, it's on 47,300 miles (and still being driven).

Anyone interested is welcome to come and see the car. There wasn't enough space in the advertisement to put everything I wanted to say about the car but seeing it in person will tell any potential buyer everything they need to know!

It's totally unmolested, great condition. I'll be sorry to see it go but given that I have virtually no need for a car at all at this point, I can't really warrant the insurance costs (I'm a reasonably young driver) any longer. I would consider trades with a Mini or something similar that I can also let the Mrs drive.

It was serviced at Bauer Millet last week and came back with a totally clean bill of health so it will allow the new owner many miles of happy and enjoyable driving before it needs another service.

Looks like a good one!! I've just advertised mine too... gutted, travel plans mean I have no choice. I've really struggled to set a sale price too. I'm happy to do a deal but they don't seem to be selling at the mo.... doh

Hi everybody,

Just a very quick message to say the GT has sadly now gone. I got offered a very reasonable price from Bauer Millet in Manchester (the owner took quite a shine to the car) and it went in yesterday.

What this does mean is that if anyone is looking for a top-spec 3.2 V6 GT in the North West, give Bauer Millet (Vehicles For Sale | Bauer Millett | Specialists In American Car Sales) a call. They're giving it a good polish and she'll be out on their forecourt in no time.

I don't imagine it will hang around for long but it's worth giving them a call. I've been so impressed with their customer service that I'm you can't go wrong dealing with them.

Of course there's also the advantage now that it'll come with an Alfa Romeo warranty which is priceless on a car like this for the new owner...!

I'm now grunting around in a Mini but I'll be right back to Alfa Romeo if/when they ever replace the GT (and not with the Brera!).

Thanks to everyone on here, and if anyone ever comes on here asking after a metallic black and tan 3.2 GT with numberplate *J54 GBX (partially hidden), I'll still be reading my PMs and I'd be happy to talk to the new owner like the previous owner did for me.

That sounds more-or-less like the Mini I ended up with:

A Cooper S with Chili Pack, leather interior, and the JCW performance package. So certainly not at all sluggish (210bhp in a car that weighs about the same as an office chair), but it does still feel like quite a considerable step down from the GT..

No denying that the Mini is a lot of fun to drive - the wheels are right out at the corners so it behaves a little like a go kart. It's a very eager little car but doesn't have that pick-up-and-go or the glorious exhaust note that the GT did.

Eitherway, I will return to Alfa one day, especially if they ever actually do replace the GT.
