Hi guys,

I'm seriously considering buying a 3.0 from a 166, taking it appart and rebuilding it to zero kms spec. :)

Found an engine and I sort of know all the gear I'll have to get for this major task (sort of...).

What I'd really like to know is where can I find all the technical details I'll need to make it happen (torque values, procedures, etc)? Basically, what I'm really looking for is a shop manual for the 3.0 engine... :readit:

I don't suppose eLearn will help me, or would it? And if it would, does anyone have a link for the 166 eLearn, ´cause I only have the 156 eLearn...

Hoping to hear from you guys soon,

If you have eLearn for 2.5 and 3.2, then you're good. 2.5, 3.0 and 3.2 from engineering point of view are identical. All torques, clearances etc. are the same.

I have the workshop manuals for the GTV, theres a lot of technical data in them on the engines that came with the GTV over the years. I can email them to you if you PM me your address.

Thanks Alterro, I do have eLearn for the 2.5, don't know for sure if it covers the 3.2 or not, but I'll take a look. ;)

Ok, so quick update: I think I might have missed out on the engine I had my sights on.

But it's okay, it'll give me more time to prep things out.

By the way, does anyone know how much these engines wheight? (gonna have to get an engine stand)

It'll be a big old attachment so may send as six separate emails. I actually printed it out and took 9 big folders, must 3-4 thousand pages.

Hope you are ready for some shock to the wallet. Anything on the V6 is expensive and often, not really worth doing just for the crack as they wear really well.

Engine without auxiliary (starter, ac, generator), is around 180kg.

Get an engine stand of at least 500kg, you will remember me!

Finally, i got a 3,0 v6 24v engine for sale, if you are up to it! Pm me if interested.
