Have a slight blow in the exhaust of my 1997 24v CL- does anyone know if the exhausts of the earlier 12vs will fit as that should help the search...

Thanks...

Where is the problem? 12V & 24V manifolds & downpipes are very different, if it's a box, I can check EPER part numbers if you like.

ETA, just tried that on the back box and 12V/24V are different. Not surprised really, as the 24V has much larger pipe bore on the manifolds than the 12V

Beyond the usual 'you can make anything fit with enough effort' I'd probably say 'no' but never know. someone might have done it and can say 'yes'

...and I've learned (the hard way!) that there was more than one system fitted even to the 12V cars! From memory, there are at least two different styles of back box.

On a slightly related note, does anyone know if the tubular manifolds from a 24V will fit on a 12V? And if so, is there any power improvement?

24v manifolds to 12v.....kind of! I fitted a pair to my stratos copy. Cut off the 24v mounting flange as the ports are entirely the wrong shape. Make some new ones in 8mm plate (stainless for preference) that match the 12v ports but with a bore to suit the 24v pipework. 'Persuade' the vaguely rectangular 24v pipework to fit the round holes in the new flange plates. weld it all up. Then you need some way to connect the much larger 24V collector flanges to the rest of your system. in my case, it was easy...as I made the rest of the system to fit the 'new' manifolds.

Alternatively, the short answer wold be no!

Power gains.....I guess only if the stock system was restrictive at the power levels the current state of engine tune supports. Realistically, probably yes, a few bhp, as the stock cast manifolds are pretty small and tortuous. Worth the effort on an otherwise stock 164 12v - no way!

Fantastic Chris! You've just saved me a load of hassle and money, ta! I'd been idly considering it as I too was thinking the cast manifolds were a bit...

...but I think I can cross that one off the list now - especially with the little pea-shooter tailpipe that comes as standard!

The old 12v 164 is poorly served for tuning bits these days :( Plenty of bits for the 75 though.

The 24v manifolds are nice - good pipe size, stainless, and we'll formed...but a lot of work to adapt to the 12v. TBH, if one was serious, a compete new custom system would be the best way to go. Not cheap though.

Just waved goodbye to the car with the 24v manifolds as it happens....
