can somebody please help explain

my blocked partical filter warning keeps coming on due to short journeys, then needs a blast down the m-way.
1. I am confused as to what to do for best do i need to blank off egr and map it out on the ecu?
2. is it best to change the partical filter?
3. can anybody reccomend a tuner in lancashire idealy near burnley
4. what is the best option that does not cost the earth?

any advice would be great as i dont know anything about diesel engines, I cant be without my car so sending ecu off in post to be flashed is a no no

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, with modern diesels this is
always going to be an issue which occurs with short journeys and is the
reason that you should always be advised to buy a petrol if this is the
case. To answer your questions:

1. If you map out/blank the EGR this will only exacerbate the problem. I
actually will not map out out an EGR if a DPF is fitted as the DPF will
definitely block within a very short space of time.
2. There is no point changing the DPF in my opinion as short journeys
will make the problem reoccur down the line. If a motorway blast clears
the fault then the DPF is operating as it should do. You could have the
DPF cleaned but, again, the problem will reoccur due to short journeys
in the future.
3. There are only 2 possible total fix solutions, although I don't know
how happy they will make you! The best solution is to sell the car(!)
and buy a petrol. They are cheaper to buy, service and generally run if
short journeys are all that are done in the car. A diesel tends to be
less economical than a petrol on a cold engine anyway. The only other
solution is to remove the DPF and map the car accordingly which is a
very popular choice currently. The problem with this solution is that it
is actually illegal to use the car on the road without a DPF fitted if
the vehicle originally came with one (they became mandatory in 2009).
The way a DPF is removed is not detectable on an MOT but a full VOSA
inspection would detect it and apparently trials are underway in London
to use cameras on roadside stops to check for the removal of DPF's. If
it is found that a vehicle is being used on the road without a DPF
fitted, the car will be deemed as unroadworthy (i.e. an MOT failure) and
the owner will face up to a £1000 fine (although it is currently not
illegal for someone to remove one). This is something that I should be
able to do for you (I would need your registration to be certain), but I
would insist that you sign a disclaimer saying that I have explained the
law surrounding it to you.

There is something else wrong, DPF filters on 2.0 diesels don't give trouble and removing it is going to make your car illegal to us on UK roads and will invalidate your insurance

I would suggest start with the simple, vehicles fitted with DPF must run on low ash oil and in your case C3 oil, get an oil and filter change done and make sure the correct oil is used

We can do the EGR delete if you send us the ECU we don't need the car
