After finding out that it would cost me £380 to replace a wing mirror, the horror continues....

I was pulling away from a round about, changing from 1st to 2nd when I heard a bang from in front of my feat somewhere. The next thing I know, the clutch is stuck to the floor! I manage to get the car in neutral and push it to the side of the road.

Engine starts and stops fine but the clutch just won't work. The peddle is soft and wouldn't come back up for a while. Weirdly, after I'd left it for about 30 mins, engine off, the clutch felt fine ( I was waiting for the recovery vehicle) I started the engine and tried to engage 1st with no luck, the peddle felt soft almost immediately. The gear level wouldn't move into any gear

Going to call round some dealers tomorrow. As I only got the car in December, I don't know any good dealers. The only one I know is a person at H.R. Owen Prestige Car Dealer - Tradition of Excellence. To be fair, I rang and asked a guy there for some advice. He could have taken me for a ride but told me to try a couple things that sorted out the blue & me as well as the windows not shutting properly after disconnecting the battry so I trust them. I just dont think that a dealer selling bentleys in Chelsea will be the cheapest place to get some work done!

Can anyone advise on the clutch / Alfa specialists in London (around Borough/ Elephant & castle) please!!!

Sounds like a nightmare. Sorry to hear that mate. :(

I had a similar problem many years ago when changing from 1st to 2nd at high revs in an older car. Heard and felt a bang and then the car wouldn't engage any gears. I had to have a replacement gearbox fitted. Yikes!

Can't imagine that with such a new car though? Was it bought from a dealer? Have you got any warranty?

I got it 2nd hand from a (non Alfa) dealer in Cardiff. I'm told I do have warranty but may have to pay £30 to have this changed over to me if the dealer hasn't already (I think he has).

Any advice on dealers to use in London please???
