Blimey Cobber, that Australian sales patter is quite er, regionally specific.

I have no Idea what unexampled means. And I have never seen something so beautiful that it hits you like a canned ham fired from a cannon

Sounds a lot now, but so many examples over many different marques of exceptional cars making exceptional prices......Look back in not too many years time and it will seem a bargain?!

He's more than a bit optimistic. I get that to around £54k very roughly.

We're a good few years off 2000's being that price.

Also, when I used to live in Australia, the spiders sold for 50% more than the coupes. I assume there were just more coupes about.

This is perhaps the lowest mileage gtv2000 in the country, but still.....

Your correct about that, a friend bought a 2000 spider back in the mid 80's for $12000.00 sold it for $21000.00 4 years later, you'd be lucky to get $10000.00 for a decent coupe, things have definitely turned, my GT junior was valued by my insurance at $ 18500.00 I recently had discussions with them regarding its value, I sent them a couple of pictures and they came back saying that worth minimum $35000.00, they value my 2000 spider at $21000.00,
In regards to the $100000.00 gtv someone has seen it and reported that its not as good as they say, it has been repainted and the wheel arches are in black instead of body colour

thanks for the update. I guess in the end the general lower supply of coupes has driven up the price

as for the 80k, i think it was the 9000km which made it unique, but still unbelieveble expensive.

You only have to look around the market in terms of prices that are being achieved, some unbelievable, like this Capri:
1987 Ford Capri 280 'Brooklands' with 936 miles on the clock sells for £54,000 | This is Money
V low mileage, but pretty much the same price.
I know which I'd rather have. Not that surprised personally....

Update, apparently it sold for full asking price as another party offered full price.
