So the range starts at 35k EUR roughly, and a Super spec is 40k EUR?
I'm hoping this means it'll convert back to £30-35k but I have a horrible fear it won't

Bit (pleasantly) surprised, the petrol was already in the Dutch 1st May pricelist, at 40.950,- for the super and 39.450 for the standard.
Would have expected the Dutch prices to be higher, however, they seem more or less the same for a change ;)

off topic!!!
:nono:

go to the back of the internet, please
Actually, the thread title is 2.0 Litre Petrol and the 280bhp is a? ;)

We can even update here when the 350bhp is launched. :p

Mind you. I'm curious. How is the 2.0 l petrol more expensive than the diesels? Is that not placing it too far above the equivalent 3 series? The closest is the 320i which is €37200 in auto form. You can get the 252bhp 330i for €42200

If the 200bhp is between the 320i and 330i, it'll be £32k.

good question, wont know for sure until its on the configurator, but dont get confused by the auto/manual price differential

diesel is meant to be dearer than petrol traditionally, however, the petrol has about 20 more hp, so that might explain it

It is not more expensive.

2.0 200 hp Turbo with 8-speed auto and Super trim level is 40.500€.
2.2 180 hp dieasel with autobox and Super trim level is 43.500€.

And manual version of 2.2 180 hp diesel Super is 40.500€.

No the original Italian version says it's available in The standard and super trim so the super version will be more than 40500. (And who would want it without the paddles that come with Super trim).

For comparison Jag XE pure in Italy is 40550€ for 180 diesel auto (£32025 uk price) and 38400€ for 200 petrol auto (£26990 uk price). UK petrol model maybe pitched cheaper to give the better "XE from 26990 price" as the conversion rates end up as 1.27 for the diesel and 1.42 for the petrol.

If that is correct, and as Super trim level in Italy is 2500€ more than Standard Giulia, then 200hp 2.0 Super would be 43.000€, which is still 500€ cheaper than 2.2 180 dieasel with autobox.

Paddles do not come with Super trim, they are an extra 300€ in italian configurator.

Trouble with Alfa is what you get in Italy might not be what we get in UK ... that switch from LHD to RHD can cause issues and so they often include as standard or exclude items from the configuration completely to make the car work (and not cost Alfa/Fiat a lot of money!).

I still hope that they aren't priced as 3 series or that makes them too expensive! Been looking at those and the price jumps really quickly for a few simple add-ons ... but then BMW have always done that. I remember when the 3 series was released and didn't even come with a radio in the UK!! Our Fleet Manager nearly had a coronary!

Today in Poland we got Giulia 2.0 petrol 200HP AT8 into official configurator on AR website.
In Poland we have addtional excise tax bigger by 15.5% (18.6%) for engines bigger than 2.0L (vs 3.2% below, BTW stupid tax, does not takes even into account EUROx emission or CO2 or someting like MFG year, just capacity). Anyway, that makes theoretically 2.2L diesels to be expensive (or more expensive that a lot of competitors under 2.0L), an unil today I had hope at last for petrols(<2.0L) to be more competitively priced. That Dutch pricelist pasted earlier, also could let belive even more - 2.0T 200HP AT8 there was around 8% cheaper than 2.2d 150HP AT8, both at the same tax rate there (if I understand that pricelist correctly), so in Poland maybe 15.5 + 8% possible? Nope! It turned that our price of 2.0T 200HP AT8 is identical as 2.2d 150HP AT8... Makes no sense for me such price strategy. Car is not cheap overthere - more or less price of basic BMW320i (BWM is EUR1200 cheaper but MT6, though some prefer, and AR does not give such choice) - I haven't compared spcs, but know that Giulia does not offer anything in basic trim level (for decent car extra EUR10k needs to be added), the same was always the case for BMW.
