Anyone replaced or changed the exhaust system on the 2.0 JTDM in any way? I'm wanting the car to sound a bit more sporty/loud. I know I'm asking a lot of a diesel
why would you want a noisy car? I think sleeper mode is the best option.I think the only thing you could do is loose the back box and replace it with a twin exit "Plain" pipe system.

Removing the DPF would help as well, but as that is illegal and the Giulietta DPF is reliable I wouldn't suggest it.
Changing the airbox to a cone filter will get you more noise as well.

Here's some help.I've got the car booked in for an exhaust specialist to look at this week to see what can be done to give it a bit more "character" I'll do a before and after recording as well, as it doesn't seem like many people have any clips of what the possible outcomes are.
That is helpful, I'm getting the rear silencer taken out and putting a stainless steel back end on with larger diameter pipes on Tuesday, I'm looking into dpf removal and remap in October when the insurance should be cheaper. The specialist said there should be a noticeable note change but nothing major with the dpf still onHere's some help.I've got the car booked in for an exhaust specialist to look at this week to see what can be done to give it a bit more "character" I'll do a before and after recording as well, as it doesn't seem like many people have any clips of what the possible outcomes are.

DPF off, larger diameter exhaust line, bypass to either straight pipe or dual small mufflers. Sound is pretty good with straight pipe, for a 1.6 diesel.
Ive got an Ulter coming. Delivered tomorrow and fitting on Sunday if all goes well.Hi folks - I've a 2.0 JTDM (170bhp) Veloce and just fitted an Ulter back box with 101mm end tail pipes and both tips fil out the rear difusser really well and look good in my opinion. I paid £189 delivered and thought it was a better investment than the £200+ for the OEM chrome exhaust tips. I will post a pic soon. No real difference in performance and a slightly deeper note (but that could just be me) I bought it for the look more than anything else and I am happy with how it looks. Next mod is fitting the 'sprint' rear difusser from Alfa to finish the rear end. Pics to follow. I found a UK supplier for the Ulter and was cheaper than eBay. Fitment is also very easy - local garage charged me £10 for fitting. I now have an OEM rear twin back box for a G 2.0 JDTM (18k miles of use) if anyone is interested
