I’m selling my 1999 Alfa Romeo 156 with a 3.0 Busso V6 engine in Africa Grey with ~150K miles. I have bought the car in June 2020 as a lockdown project, but I need to cut down the number of cars now. MOT until June 2023. More photos on 1999 Alfa Romeo 156 3.0 V6

The car was engine swapped with a 3.0 V6 from a GTV, and fully recommissioned by Autolusso North before I bought it with a lot of preventative maintenance done, specifically had new belts and idlers, water pump, clutch and flywheel, spark plugs, starter motor and alternator, brake lines as well as all the fluids changed. While the car was apart, I have asked Dan to fit a Quaife LSD, front and rear GTA anti roll bars, GTA oil cooler and a GTA short shifter.

My 156 has a CDA air intake with a washable BMC filter as well as a Cybex stainless exhaust, so it’s a little loud but sounds really good with no droning. It has also been lowered with Eibach springs and Koni shock absorbers, but the ride is very good and reasonably smooth over bumps.

Since the purchase, I have continued to improve the car by cleaning the injectors, replating the fuel rail and glass blasting the engine covers. I have also replaced the rear shocks and the catalytic converter (OEM from a 60K donor car). Inside the car I have fitted a low mileage tan interior and a new wooden wheel (I have the original leather one too), as well as cleaned the floor and soundproofed floor and door panels. More recently I have refurbished the 16” teledial wheels (fitted with Goodyear tires) and repainted brake calipers. If close to asking price, I will also include new Koni front shocks and TRW suspension arms (around £400 new), although the car doesn't need them yet.

I have used the car as a daily driver for several months and it has been supremely reliable, even by modern car standards. Mechanically it is very sound with all the big jobs done (belts will be due in 2 years) and structurally it is solid although it has quite a bit of welding in the past. The paintwork lets it down a bit, since the roof suffers from laquer peel and most panels have some scratches.

Car is located in Basingstoke and I’m happy for any serious test drives provided you’re insured for it. Let me know if you have any questions, there’s bound to be things I have missed. Thanks!
