I have an '85 Spider with the soft rear spoiler. The center portion of the spoiler has lost the smooth original surface, leaving a "foam rubber" texture. It doesn't look terrible, but obviously needs fixing. I see that replacing it is difficult as they seem hard to get. Does anyone have experience with this problem and a solution?

Often all that is required is a lot of elbow grease. Essentially you need to give the rubber a damn good clean, rinse and dry. Next step would be to try a rubber cleaner on a cloth or pad and give it a good working into the rubber, wipe and review.

Something like the Autoglym Bumper Shine could be a good starting point, it has reasonable durability but the gloss is a tad too high for me. One tip, work in sections rather than try to do it all at once

If you lay down a generous coat of AG Restore Gel first and leave it to fully penetrate, then apply 2-3 coats of AG bumper shine after, it will look wet look black and last twice as long using this method.

You can also do this for scuttle panel ;)
