Hi,

How is it possible to tell the difference between a series one Duetto Spider and later editions when it comes to the roof frame?

Trying to avoid making the wrong purchase and ending up with something that doesn't fit.

The seller isn't sure which series it is from hence the need to clarify how to check.

Any help appreciated as always.

Thanks

Mike

yes duetto frames and S2/S3/S4 frames are quite different.
different windscreen shape, side windows, and how the hood drops back into the compartment.

here is a new production duetto frame....maybe the photos would help you

duetto top frames are very rare, and sellers "will" know the difference, believe me....;)

Thanks, apparently this dealer bought parts on bulk and doesn't know what it's from other than an alfa duetto.

These are the pics he sent me, I will try and guage it from the links you sent.

Thanks

ah OK,
its a later frame.....easy reference point, from what I see, is the side mounting brackets, duettos are kind of triangular -
kammtail and later, squarish.

(the term duetto is used in Italy, for instance, for alfa spiders right up to 1993, so thats maybe where the confusion lies!)
