Hi,

I know that this has been asked loads of times before but I haven't found much information.

I am looking into getting my car remapped and I have spoken to V12 in Manchester because they are round the corner from my work.

They said it would gain about 40bhp an 70 lbft and would cost £150

I was thinking about getting Alfa tune to do it but I believe that they are very expensive compared to this price.

Has anyone had a remap from them recently that can give me an idea of price?

What are the limitations of my car, for example what is the torque limit of the gearbox?

Are there any other items that are put under strain with a remap?

Has anyone used V12 in Manchester and what was your experience?

Thanks

Matt

I cannot advise specifically but I've only had electronic tuning done by renowned Alfa experts.

£150 seems cheap considering how far into the code a good tuner must go to make it functional, reliable and stop it regressing back to standard and perhaps throwing errors.

Buy cheap, pay twice is something which seems proved over and over again.

No it does not... 136HP engines use weaker gearbox, the same as in Giulietta, C635.

Only 170HP engines use the F40 gearbox, which is also used in 2.4 20V applications.

Regarding a remap, go for quality and try not to focus on the price to much.
I did mine at https://www.squadra-tuning.nl/ .
Because of my C635 gearbox it has 200hp/390Nm. With the F40 gearbox the torque can be programmed at 410Nm.
