You're probably right, but lets be honest here, the wheels aren't pushed for space in the G's wheel arches. Provided the tyre width isn't any wider, there won't be any difference between a G on 18's compared to 19's (overall diameter same, tyre width stays at 225). If the wheels are 8" instead of 7 1/2" with the same offset then the extra width will be shared equally betwen both sides of the wheel, so the wheel will 'grow' 8mm (or 1/4") into the wheel arch and towards the outside of the car. I would imagine the critical point will be on the inside edge of the wheel and the clearance with the suspension and bodywork on full lock. I think looking at how closely 18's fit would give a good idea, especially 1/2" above the rim (Which is where a 19" rim would end up).Novitec list 20" x 8.5J :wow:
