what is involved when replacing the serpentine belt for the water pump and a/c? i have the RF tire off and the inner fender out. Is it an automatic tensioner? I'm not at the car right now its at my quick lube shop. I'll be fixing it in the morning. I just bought the car 2 days ago and put a battery in it and then had that belt snap.
Thanks.

If the alternator belt's that old, do you know how old the timing belt is?
Haven't done the alt belt myself, but I don't believe it's difficult - be sure to check all the idler pulleys though, saves you having to change them later.

I have records from the previous owner, and the timing belt was done 9 months ago and only 800 miles since then. It has sat in a garage quite a bit fot the past 2 years. Only about 4000 miles since March of 2005. I got the new belt on and the idler pulley started to squeak so I have a new one going on tomorrow morning. I didn't realize what a pain it was going to be finding parts, as I'm in the United States. The belts are pretty easy though. Thanks.
