Just been thinking about the 164 sub-frame situation.

I may be way off the mark here, but would the sub-frame from a Saab 9000, or Lancia Thema fit a 164? I believe they all used a similar chassis.

If this is the case, has anyone tried Saab to see what availability is like?

Feel free to mock if I'm being a bit thick ! :)

Cheers

Don't know about the Lancia but I think the Saab might be different. As I remember it, although the cars shared floorpans, the suspension setups were slightly different. Certainly, the 164 had a lovely low bonnet line because it's front struts were bolted to the front of the front hubs, rather than the tops. Someone once told me a Fiat Croma rear subframe was the same as a 164 though - never checked, mind!

I'm sure the sub frames are the same for the Lancia, Alfa & Fiat as the rear suspension set up is identical. Certainly the struts are all interchangeable.

The fronts are the same on the Fiat & Lancia but are different on the Alfa.
