you know the bottom bit that surrounds the body of the early 164's, doors, bumpers etc, would you say that it's made of plastic, mine has a few scuffs, which lets the car down slightly, has anybody ever had this lower body section resprayed, if so what sort of paint would you recommend? i'm always at a loss of how to treat it aswell , polish? bumper black which always washes off btw, I've even used leather cleaner on it,

If it's like the bumpers and trim on my Alfasud I highly recommend Plasbak.
They're a hard plastic. Not sure if the 164 trim is the same?

As far as I'm aware, it's a polyurethane foam and is painted with the same sort of paint as the rest of the car. If that's true, anything that's used on the other paintwork should be good enough. I've certainly touched mine up with touch-up paint in a few places.
