2lt 16v twin. 1994.broke cam belt 16000 ago, engine started burning oil after 10000 (warranty out) approx 1lt/300mls.filled up expansion tank and water dissapeared into oil sump! rapidly.have removed head and clocked, all ok.pressure test next.has anyone experienced this problem!!!!

Woohoo, another 155 north of the border :D

Think there is a post similair to this one. May be the head gasket. Is there an emulsion around the inside of the oil filler neck or cap ???
If you're sure the water is dropping into the oil and not evaporating through a leak, then this may well be the problem.

water is definatly goin straight into oil sump. car was not cooked. had been parked up for a week. cold engine etc

this also sonds like a head gasket job what did you see when you took off the head.?? and dont say four pistons.

Gasket,ok .no sign of tracking across.have checked down piston bores no vis cracks. could not fathom why water was disapearing so quickly!

you cant always actualy see where a gasket has gone..what colour where the pistons was one of them really clean.??

pistons were all roughly the same.black/carbon deposit
