Hello all

I suspect that my diff bearings may be failed (strong vibration when left driveshaft goes up, on fast right turns or when going over bumps).

Dont want to remove the entire gearbox for a rebuilt since everything else works ok.

Is it possible to remove the diff, without taking the gearbox out?

Seems possible since there is a separate cover for the diff that opens downward.

Its a 2011 159 TBi, with approx 130,000 km.

Thanks, Haim

Jack up that wheel clear of the ground, and firstly rotate the wheel by hand back and forth, and see what you feel, then I would remove wheel and grab the shaft and turn it back and forth by hand, and try and lift up/side ways the shaft as it inputs the gearbox, before you start removing unnecessary parts!
