Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me how to stop the stereo for turning on everytime you start the car. I turn the stereo off before I turn the engine off but when I re insert the key it comes back on again!

Also linked into this I'm finding that the stereo also keeps defaulting to Media Player even when the last 'on' state was set on the radio!

Any help much appreciated as always!

Nobody? I thought this would have been a common issue. Also, how do you turn the default volume down when the stereo starts up? In my 147 you could do it from the stereos menu but it seems you can't adjust it with this one:confused:.

The stereo stays on/off depending on the state it was in
when you turned off the ignition.

It's the B&M autoplay feature that is waking up the stereo.

As SR say, you can deactivate it with vocal command
or when stationary via: Blue&Me->Settings->MediaPlayer->Autoplay->Off

Default volume is hard coded. (Although you can adjust the B&M volume from the
stereo menu ("Voice", "Ext", "Phone" or "Something" volume, they keep changing what it's called.)

Mmmmmm despite changing the Autoplay function to 'OFF' and it working for a while, it now appears the problem has come back! The Autoplay is still turned off yet it is still turning on when the ignition comes on when the stereos last state was off! Crazy Alfa electrics:lol:

Once the media player has been activated the only way to shut it off is the voice command "stop".

Changing to radio or/and switching off with the volume button only puts the media player in "sleep mode".

With the mentioned Autoplay setting you can control, if the media player shall start automatically, when you plug in the USB stick.

An update...

The post above was a description of the standard radio on a 2008/9 Brera.

Now with the radio (version with mp3-cd) on my 2011 159 the behaviour is better:

- If I change to radio after using the media player and then switch off (with the volume button), the media player does not start automatically at the next start-up.

- Then I changed the radio setting which leaves the radio on (for up to 20 minutes) after stopping the engine/ignition.
Now the media player stays off at start-up, even if it was active before the switching-off (with the volume button) !?
