Hi,
my uncle had his 159 1.9 JTS petrol's rings mains & big ends done as it used oil and the valve seals was fine.

Everything done good and well after few k's engine management light comes on.
Diagnostic says cam sensor. Replaced it R400 with delivery from alfa centurion. Cleared code. Same thing after few k's. Now waiting for second sensor as it has 2 sensors.

Now this is my thought no problems sensor wise before ring change. As a member on the forum said it may be stretched timing chain or 99% timing.

Any thoughts?

If its not the cam sensors id say its almost definately the chain that installed 99% correctly, its a tricky thing that, it will give you the illusion that its installed correctly but its not, you have to follow the workshop manuals way precisely and not make your own marks and stuff then it will be installed correctly.

Does the car have any symptoms other than the engine light? and also i cant believe such a new engine needs rings and all that already?? let me know how things get on, i know these engines quite well, because i had mine in bits and pieces already haha:lol:

Hi Benzina
We believe they (last out of motor plan service) before purchase didn't use fully synthetic oil as one of the cylinders looked as if it ran allot warmer than the rest.

No other symtoms other than light thanx for reply benznina.
