I have just acquired a 159 3.2 Q4, three years old but only 18000 miles.

Before starting the engine the information screen displays the oil level graphically. If this is to be believed my car's appetite for oil is about the same as its thirst for petrol - after about 150 miles it is telling me that the oil level is critically low.

However when I check the dipstick the oil appears to be fine, full to the maximum mark. I'm inclined to believe the dipstick rather than the display but I would appreciate hearing if anybody else has experienced this and, if it's an electronics malfunction, how it might be fixed.

I've owned two 3.2 Brera's and have never added a drop over 30k miles, even including a track day.

If the ground isn't level or you park on a slope you can get wierd messages from the OBC.

I've had my V6 for nearly 6 months, 7500 miles, and have never had to top up. I have however seen the digital display occasionally show a lower than full level as Squadrone Rosso describes.

These JTSs don't use much oil. (Maybe 20cl between services, max?)

The electronic gauge can read low sometimes as SR says.

Easy to verify with the dipstick. ;)
