I'm aware there are a number of threads on this but none seem to cover my issue.

My OEM Battery serial no 50501114 and rated at 90 AH and 440A does not seem to exist as a replacement on the usual sites. My dimensions are 315X175X190 and I can get get smaller batteries with the same rating but not ones that are 190 high.

Reading other threads this seems to be an issue as does getting lower rated batteries. Which is more important, the 90 'AH' rating or the 440'A' rating?

Some threads talk about a 096 battery but others say a 110....the 110 seems to be my size but not available now in the same rating.

Any help would be appreciated!

On my 1.9 JTDM 16v, the original battery was the 027 size (242 long, 175 wide, 190 high), so I replaced it with the same when it ran out of oomph. The modern battery had a somewhat better Amp Hour (AH) capacity, and better Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). Chose one with mid-range pricing, with a 5 year no-quibble guarantee. Has worked just fine all through this winter - although here on the South Coast we've had few really cold mornings.

Although it's tempting to fill the 315 mm long battery tray - I considered going up to the 096 size at 278x175x190 - why add the weight of a beefy battery, when you don't really need it? Maybe the Tbi does need it?
