The turbo on my alfa 159 1.9jtdm for the first 15 seconds after starting cold kind of makes a screeching noise .. then goes away.

There isnt any excess exhaust smoke from exhaust however .. there is fumes and smoke coming from under the turbo heat shield under the bonnet....the more you rev the more smoke .. after the screeching stops the smoking doesnt. It still boosts properly .

Is it knackered, damaged lines or pipes ?

sounds like the union/pipe that feeds the turbo bearings has a small leak, you needs to get this sorted asap or risk an oil fire.

Ive only had this car 3 days now, I have a 28 day major mechanical parts warranty from dealer .. will the turbo be covered ?

I have options to extend this, and thinking it might not be a bad idea.
