Hi all,
My 159 recently developed a weird sound, and no one seems to know what's causing it. Usually it appears at around 40-50kph in 3rd gear, and can be heard also in every other gear, except at high speeds as the road noise is louder by then. I have tried to record the sound, which can be found here: drive.google.com/file/d/1huXFHmatWR6ndfm-8pVNwB-OXkvPxmDk/view?usp=sharing (weird rhythmic noise in the background). The sound seems to disappear with clutch depressed. I've also had DMF & clutch replaced 1000kms ago, which didn't solve the issue. Wheel bearings were also checked, they seem to be OK. Could it be a problem with the infamous M32 gearbox?

Has anyone had this problem yet?

Sounds like the gearbox bearings not the usual ones for 6th gear but the main shaft ones to me. Typically it starts around 20mph and is a constant whirring/whining type noise. Mine did it for 15k miles and never really got any worse so I just left it
