Afternoon gents, does anyone know of a 156 being broken? I'm after the wiper linkage for mine as the bushing for the wiper spindle is goosed.

I've seen a few on ebay fairly cheap but I thought I'd ask in here first:)

you'd be as well to replace the entire assembly, if the socket is worn so will the ball be. €50 or so buys a good used assembly. 15 / 20 min's to replace

My mechanics son is using mine as a donor car, I can check later this week if the linkages are looking for a good home?
That would be great, just drop me a pm when you know either way:thumbs:

Thanks for the tip, seems to be a bit of a weak spot on the 156 by all accounts. (just like the wishbones, t.belts, airbag lights etc etc:lol:)

My gtv is being ncted on Friday so I'll likely to be talking to my mechanic Fri/Sat if that's not too late?

If it isn't I'll ask if he's happy for you to come round and remove what you want?

Is the one on a 166 the same? Got the whole assembly here, if its any use to ya..
Its different on the 166, much bigger..

Be aware there are 3 or 4 versions on the 156, there are two different pin configurations on the motor, also I think some have some slight change on the linkage which fouls somewhere if the wrong one is fitted - its been a while since I've fitted one of these, I remember doing it on my old black 2.4 diesel and ended up getting lucky on the 3rd one off the shelf.

All 156 linkages up to the facelift model are the same. The difference in the facelift is due to in some cases having slightly different arms due to aero blades being used rather than the older type. The motors can differ due to wiring differences (auto wipe etc).
I have a s/hand unit if you want to PM. (early type)
