Hi all, I'm having problems with our 156 1.6cc 2002 sportwagon. I started it up this morning and puled the trailer off the drive and onto the road, everything fine, just straightened the trailer up a bit and beep beep beep, VDC failure!! I switched it off and now it will not start up again. Just beeps and tells me VDC failure.

At the weekend I changed the follwoing:

Water pump
variator
Timing belt
Tensioner
Idler pulley
Rocker cover gasket
Camshaft seals
Plugs
Oil
Filters

After this the car was incredible, smooth, powerful and no diesel knock from the variator. I've tried using the FiatECUscan but the laptop will not correspond with the ECU??????

I'm open to any suggestions you are willing to give.

Many Thanks in advance.

You're a superstar "Iainfm"!!!! No is the answer to your suggestion, but it was loose when I checked, tightened it up a hey presto, it coughed, smoked and spluttered and then cleared itself. There's a drink here if you're ever in North Yorkshire. Many Thanks
