I have a 2002 156 1.8ts. My car recently started to get a light vibration through all rpms higher than 2000. I didn't think much of it but now I have an unusual noise coming from the engine. Its more of like a rattling sound ( I posted a link to the vid). It sounds like it is coming from under the cam cover. I read that it may be the variator but it doesn't sound like a diesel. It also happens at all rpm ranges. The oil level is also adequate. Any thoughts would be appreciated?

When I bought the car the guy said they had just changed the timing belt and pullys. That was 15k kilometers ago. I will pull it off and post pics tommorow. I it's the tensioner how hard of a job is it to replace?

that's not the news I wanted to hear. What all should I have them change out during the cam belt?

is it okay to run the car with the cam cover off?
