I have 2000 156 2.0l selespeed R,N,1 and 2 fine but will not change up any higher.
Have heard that it is most probably a minor problem but cant find info on what that problem is
Any help much appreciated

It'll do that if there's a faulty sensor - eg the speed sensor.

Do you have a failure light on? Does it 'try' to change (can you hear a clunk?) or just refuse?

I have the selespeed on and yes it makes all kinda noises someone mentioned that it could a sensor. Is that a relatively simple fix

Yes, but the hardest part might be obtaining a replacement. Alfa will only sell the whole actuator, not the individual devices.

Best bet is to hook it up to Alfa Diag (or Examiner if you go to someone that has it) and see what fault code it's reporting...
