Hi.
Hoping for some assistance on the gf's car.
It is an alfa 156 selespeed 2000 model and recently she has been having gearbox problems.

The dash light will flash and it will remain stuck in neutral. ...occasionally it will drive but whilst driving it again gets stuck in gear when dash light is flashing.

Ive tried reading the error code using an obd2 and torque but im unable to connect to the vehicle, im guessing you need a specific alfa app?

In terms of the gearbox ive added some tutella accuator oil and I have disconnected the battery overnight. . The code resets and car drives but eventually it comes back.

Any suggestions regarding what to try? I have read there are relays, etc? Not sure where!

Could be low pressure from the pump not running.
Suspects would be the pump, the pump relay (one of the 50A in front of the battery), but could also just be a poor connection in the main actuator connector.
The connector is down between the battery and engine below the MAF Sensor. You need to pull the side of the connector to open it. Treat with a proper electrical contact cleaner (ie Electrolube EML).

As you've realised, torque and other generic aps won't work, you need multiECUscan or similar, a search on here will find details.
