Hi Jon,

As easy as some of the paint comes off, you'll find in other places it's really keyed in and pretty thick. I used a paint removal wheel on my drill then sandpaper then wet and dry and metal polish. The other rail I tried paintstripper. Save time, take them off (easy) and take them to a powder coaters or metal polishing place.

I remember now, I got so peed off trying to get the paint off, I took my belt sander with a 60 grit belt to the rails.
