Hi all, I'm on the verge of buying a beautiful 156 2.5 V6, but knowing Alfa's reputation (mechanically more so) I'm a bit weary. Personally I'm a ford man though I'm on my 7th mondeo and a little bored to say the least, and don't really fancy another (even if it will be a ST24)

So, how reliable is the 2.5 V6 unit, anything to look out for, its got a 100k on he clock but FSH to back it up

How are they for leg room I'm 6'7ft so need something that'll be comfy

Anything else to look out for electrical gremlins etc etc?

Thanks

welcome to AO Haza....

the 2.5 v6 is a great motor...looks the part and drives the same..

make sure it has a full service history and that the cambelt and tensioners have been changed at 72k, although ideally at 36k or 3 years, whichever is sooner...tensioner and belt are real problems for the twinnies, not so much for the V6...

to be honest you are going to have sit in one to see whether leg room is a potential issue...

they can suffer from a few italian "gremlins"..but thats why we love them..

make sure its got all its keys, they are expensive to get cut and programmed...

happy alfa hunting dude...
