Just wondering if any one would be able to help
I have just brought a alfa 156 2.5 v6

It has started lacking power and juddering throughout the revs
It is like the power is there but then losses it all
This happens when engine is hot or cold.

I have tried unplugging the maf but the engine just stalls

Any help with this would be great

Thanks for that, I found that out last night. I got my girl to unplug it while I kept the revs up then took for a quick drive up the street it was fine so that's what made me clean the maf sensor, but It will be just my look that it will just do the same as it was so I will need to buy a new one anyway. But atleast I know what I will need to change if it dose.

Carb cleaner can be a little too harsh on MAF sensors mate, it not just removes the dirt, it can quickly remove the protective coating of the precious metal wire probe too.... Try some isopropyl alcohol next time sprayed onto the metal probe and then use a soaked cotton bud with glass cleaner on the angled mirror section.. followed by dry cotton buds to keep it nice, smear free and dry It gives a hell of a lot longer lasting results
