Hi all , just got myself a 03 156 2.0 petrol JTS , very pleased with it just driven it 250 miles from North yorkshire to Brighton staying with mates for weekend , got really good MPG cruised down with only one issue whenever I give it a poke with the accelerator the engine management light flashes up go to dealer etc if i resume back to gentle driving it goes off , i don't drive my cars hard and when i say a poke im really talking more of a tickle but for some reason it doesn't seem to like it , the flashing lights and beeping concerns me so i havnt pushed on to see what happens ive immediately resumed to steady driving .
anyone have an idea coz i don't and don't want to go throwing loads of cash at dealers with replacing unnecessary parts?

Also can anyone recommend where to take my Alfa for servicing and just honest good advice /fair prices etc i live in Harrogate North Yorkshire

any help will be greatly appreciated
Baz

hi all was bothering me too much so whipped it down to a local garage they plugged iot in and it came up with misfiring, and oxygen sensor but the one i think it most likely to be is the p1121 code coming up as throttle valve position sensor , i say this as they cleared the computer as i have no knowledge of how long those discrepancies have been stored on the cars computer.
and as i drove it away went through the gears accelerated the warning came on as i pressed down on the gas pedal so im thinking throttle valve??

cars running sweet enough so i dont think i should be too worried ????

Just in case helps anyone took it to alfa specialist KR Motors in Starbeck nr Harrogate, really cool guys make you feel totally as ease which was reassuring ,turns out my misfire was the plugs needed changing along with a ignition coil , something he diagnosed initially from my description and he was bang on.
Runs sweet no warning lights on ,need the wishbones front suspension bits doing next as it knocks when go over pot hole etc , but again the guy put me at ease saying he'd looked at it yes there's some play in front wheel but book it in next month and he'll get me a price and sort it out saying it was nothing to worry about in the immediate future.
I just came away from a garage for the first time in many many years feeling yes of course there's a cost implication but sound advice and the reassurance that you are getting honest service from a family run garage and no scarily oooh mr that's gonna cost you or oooh you shouldn't of bought an alfa story etc etc .

Well just thought i'd post my thoughts
I'm about 4 weeks into first alfa ownership still smiling.....
