Head gasket needs replacing on my 156 1.8ts does anyone where to source the parts from and is there a cd available showing how to do or even a manual, any help would be gratefull.

Hi, over the last couple of years ive purchased some good cds off ebay and some not so good.At £1.99 each its not a huge dissapointment.Ive purchased a couple advertised as having been the same as used by Alfa workshops and im fairly confident they were.The most annoying thing is removing the "rear stay" supporting the inlet manifold, possibly the most important is the timing setup afterwards although everthing is important.Im sure if your genuinly interested in doing the job there are plenty of people here on these forums to help sort it.When you get the head pressure tesated and skimmed also get a vacuum tast done on the valves.Takes 2 mins and if one or two need reseating its a cheap fix.

Cheers was going to get new valves and do the head anyway just never done one b4 on a 16v (scania and iveco ) r my thing,

First question why does the cylinder head gasket need replacing that is almost unheard of in a 1.8?

previous owner boiled it and i have done everything else so HG seems the way to go for a cure.
