Alfa Romeo Classifieds - Auctions - ALFA 156GTA - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

I ran out of space on the classified ad! So will continue it here!.

ALFA Romeo 156GTA. Registered in 2005 so one of the last models to be sold in the UK.

Last night I purchased a 147 GTA Selespeed. I now need to make way for it.

In excellent used condition throughout. The car was used for 3 years by the previous owner to run up and down the country in hence the high mileage. It has been serviced by dealers and specialists all its life. Currently 143k.

Metallic black paintwork, all usual GTA spec.

Comes with a mountain of paperwork including full top end rebuild at just over 100k. New clutch just before I purchased it (Oct 2014). I have only completed around 1000 miles in it as it is a weekend/fun car.

I have completed the following in my ownership:

2 new flexi pipes,
Full service including all fluids
New header tank
New Brake pads
New Avon tyres all round (as new)
New mats
New battery
Parrot BLUETOOTH

The car is mechanically excellent and has no errors or major issues - it is totally standard. The bodywork and interior are also excellent. The floorpan passes the screwdriver test with flying colours! There is no rot on the front wings. The car would benefit however from the following light refurbishments cosmetically:

- 1 jacking point missing. Also a little crazing on the drivers side skirt at the front (likely from kerb impact however no damage can be seen)
- The drivers side seat is worn on the pointy bit - the leather seems ok but has gone a little baggy due to the foam wearing underneath. The gearknob has some wear
- The headlamp washers are both cracked due to freezing up last winter,
- Slight surface rust on the floorpan - a full underseal and treatment would be in order.
- Some pitting on the headlamp lenses - a sand and treatment will solve this.

The above items are all standard repairs that most owners will have to or will have completed. All part of the GTA fettling process.

Mechanically it is sweet but the cambelt is due. I would rather negotiate the replacement in to any final price as the next owner may prefer to take it to a specialist of their choice for peace of mind.

I will supply the following upgrades if I get near enough to my asking price:

Full CAT BACK Scorpion System - nearly new
Full set of new engine bolts
New handbrake unit with nice shiny button!

HPI Clear

I am looking for around £4200 - These cars are getting rarer and, although this one is high miles, it has a great history to back it up - it pulls like a train and drives absolutely perfectly.

So, had a viewing today from a forum member. Lovely chap and a current 147 owner. He has not purchased the car but his mechanic pointed out a few other bits of note :

Paintwork to one side has been refreshed and in the sun has some signs of "orange peel",
Weep from rocker (would be sorted by cambelt change)
Weep from oil cooler pipes
Sign of old oil between gearbox and engine near base.

Rather than waste anyones time I am going to put some effort in to sorting the above issues before sale. The valeter will sort the paint out as I am sure a good flat and buff will fix this (it has been stood and not cleaned properly for over a year!). I have a cambelt and ancillaries to have fitted which would sort the rocker cover weep out. Underseal is just labour intensive as I am 100% sure of no rot.

Unless someone wants to come and give me £3200 for it I will take it off the market next week.
