Hey guys,

I recently bought a 2005 156 GTA with only 23k (km not miles) on the clock. Considering that the car has not been used much over the past 3 years, should I be concerned about changing the cambelt and associated parts or should I wait for another year?

Thanks

If it were me I wouldn't let it go passed 4 years regardless of mileage. You probably have another year to go but it is a personal choice. You could always take out a warranty?

I must have been really bad in a previous life; car booked in for a service and cambelt change at the end of this week.. guess what? Cambelt failure this morning. This is the second one that's gone in 100k miles.

Sorry to hear that. Mine also failed when it was booked in to have the belt changed if that makes you feel any better.

Be sure to contact Alfa UK to see if they will contribute to the repair.
