Hi peeps,

Im busy with a busso 2.5 V6 conversion.

I need to get an ECU (Alfa OEM) to control the engine. I heard that some 156 V6 2.6 models had an ECU that only controlled the Engine. This ECU is located in the footwell of the 156 (ABS and Airbags are controled by separate controlers.)

Witch ECU should i get? CF1 or CF2?

There aren't any CF1 156...
CF2 had an ME2.1 ECU in the footwell
CF3 had an ME3.1 ECU on the plenum chamber.

OK. Maybe I'm missing something here.

This i what I want to do.

I want to fit the 2.5 24v V6 into a Alfa 145. I'm going to use the 155 V6 Gearbox to be able to use the 145 Speado pickup. i recon the CF2 will be the best option.

Someone said the CF3 use the ABS to read the speed too.

OK, but seeing that i will be using the 155 gearbox and the 145 cable Speado, the speed reading will be sorted.

What will happen vir i dont connect the Speed reading wire from the ECu?

cf3? nup, chassis says its a cf3, ecu scan says its cf2

CF3 had an ME3.1 ECU on the plenum chamber.
that might be my problem david, auto lusso sent me a maf for a cf3 based on the chassis zar number, but just seeing your post, i checked the last multiecuscan record for the gtv, its an ME2.1 so that makes it a cf2, i wonder if auto lusso will exchange it, its only done 60 odd miles
