My 156 has just returned to me from a bodyshop chosen by my insurance company -following a re-spray to one side due extensive scrapes and scratches caused by a another driver !

Thats another story however !

I'm now starting to experience central locking issues - when i use the blip fob the central locking is often re-opening itself and takes about 2/3 mins to eventually get the car to stay locked ! As the door was striped down for re-spray could it be possible that the body shop have disturbed some electrics ?

Also there is a rattling from inside the drivers door now so was wondering if they have failed to do the door refit correctly. The push button on the drivers door handle was sticking in all the time after I got the car back. This i rectified with wd40. Previously I had had none of these issues !

Also they had de-activated the airbag system too as the red light was on - I complained like hell and they called someone out with the correct kit to re-set it. However it has since de-activated again. Another new problem !

The car goes in for an MOT 2morrow with an independant alfa specialist - was thinking of getting them to have a quick once over and get a price for any work required. If alls not well I will then contact my insurance company to complain and ask for the money to sort it out due to the poor workmanship and ongoing problems now with my locking from their recommended repairers!

Has anyone else had issues like these before ?

Check the boot is closed properly and that the car also thinks it is closed.

If the boot is open, the car will unlock itself straight after you lock it.
