Hi all,

I have recently got my self another Alfa, (156 estate 2.0 T.spark Sportwagon) Its due a cam-belt change. I got a quote off a garage today who wanted the best part of £450 to do it. The quote included Cam-belt,water pump and some tensioners and another belt that I cant remember the name of.

They said the cam-belt alone was £96, Ive been looking on eBay and found belts starting from £25 and going up too about £80-£90. The garage said that they should change another belt in that area too, plus new tensioners. Really?

Would like to hear off others who would have their cam-belt changed on similar models.

Cheers for reading.

That will include the timing belt and associated tensioners, plus balance belt and tensioner.

Waterpump is £30 plus the fluid. Would think you would be nearer £360 all in then £450 but not the worst price.

We do belt change on a 2.0 TS for £300 inc VAT, this includes, cam belt, tensioner, idler pulley, balance shaft belt. You may need a water pump but unlikely, you may need other bits and pieces but you can't tell until it is all apart

We are in Dunstable but as you are in the midland you could use WAD they would be about the same as us cost wise

I will say make sure you use a specialist with locking tools and TDC gauge
