Inside a 156 airbox there is a funnel about 8 inches long that goes inside the cylindrical air filter.
At the narrow end, the opening is only a couple of inches wide.
Any one know why it's there as it looks like it restricts the airflow quite a bit.
(The only reason I noticed was that I had the air intake off the top to insulate it {McGuyver style} as Auto Delta don't do a Carbon Fibre one for mine)

It looks like the scene from Apollo 13, where they had to make an air-filter from a box, a couple of socks and some tape.... :D

DIY is alive and well in the Antipodes.

Hmmm... I've got heaps of pipe and bends in the garage. I wonder how convoluted the pipe would have to be bent to fit in my 156. You could cut a hole in the undertray (match the one on the other side) to get more air then gets through the hole beside the foglight. All I need is time and some ramps.

Holiday project. Unfortunately the new retaining wall comes first.

Cheers
Mike
