Hello,

There's one annoying problem with my 156 and I can't figure out where is the problem. Revs goes every time to 2000-1500 rpm (cold start) but after engine has warmed up it works somehow as expected (revs goes to 1200rpm when starting and drops slowly to 850rpm). I have tried to do throttle reset but that didn't help.

Things that have been fixed during last 12 months.

• New catalytic converter
• New spark plugs
• New air filter
• One ignition coil changed
• New battery
• Scheduled timing belt etc. replacement

What could cause this erroneous behaviour?

Have you checked if the induction hose has a split?

Did you cleane the throttle body inside? do not open it by hand.

After this service and what you have done already, you need to reset the ecu, and start the ecu-learning program.

There is one crack there, but can't notice any air leak there when engine is running. Accordion pipe seems to be intact.
Maybe I will try to do something like this and see if that changes anything: Alfa Romeo forum: WTB: Induction Pipe - Any Hints Please !?

Haven't done either. I will try to do those also.

Did throttle body cleaning and ECU reset (http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-147-156-andamp-gt/201163-ecu-reset-its-a-miracle-cure.html). Now at cold start revs goes to 1500 rpm and drops to 1250 rpm in 12-15 °C temp.

Next thing might be to do MAF sensor cleaning. Looks like that requires some special torx key? Also how easily that MAF tube can be removed? With TS engines it looks quite easy operation but I can't find any instructions for JTS.
