Hi,

I have recently bought a 2003 Alfa 147.
The reversing lamp does not work!
Both the fuse and bulb are OK.

Is this likely to be a cabling fault, or gearbox switch fault?

Please help!!

Thanks

Did you test the bulb? If not just replace it. Sometimes it may look ok but in fact it is not.

HI,
I've recently had the same problem.. Check the connector on the valve, probably isn't doing contact.
Best Regards

You say bulb and fuse ok so if you have a test lamp check the wiring at the bulb end with the ignition on and the car in reverse gear..if nothing then it will most likely be the switch on the gearbox.,this can also be checked with a test lamp or multimeter...hope this solves your problem.

Sometimes you can get a few turns on the switch which will bring it back into contact with the selector shaft and that's it sorted.
