Recently I bought a 147 2002 manual, pretty new with Alfa. Do not know much of the car's history, hope some one can tell. The engine is upgraded from 1.6 to 2.0, gear box and brakes too. The catalytic converter have been taken out. Have been drive for more than 1000 km, so far so good.

Few questions,

1) What is the difference between Alfa 147 2.0 compare to 147 Ti ? According to the salesperson, parts are taken from a 147 Ti to this car by the previous owner.

2) Motor Control System Failure message is on console. It appear after a week driving the car. According to mechanic it can be turn off by examiner temporary. It seems the error is cause by the catalytic converter taken out. Something to do with lamda sensor. Although error message is there, the car seems to be working fine, no slow down, just as fast as ever. Is this a serious problem ?

3) Gear top speed, based on observation, approx. top speed before red line,

1st gear -> 60 km/h
2nd gear -> 100 km/h
3nd gear -> 130 km/h
4th gear -> 160 km/h
5th gear -> ??? hit 200 km/h, have not test the max yet.

It this similar to 147 2.0 ?

This because the O2 sensor now reads a slightly different reading, and the fuel trims are probably outside the scope pre programmed by Alfa. Ideally this modifcation should include a remap, someone like Alfatuner can help with this.
