Hi All,

my 03 2l 147 S/S is almost needing new discs and pads on the front, amyone had them changed recently and what was the damage?

i had new rear pads fitted at a generic high street "tyre and brake centre" late last year and was not impressed at all by quality or the service so il be going to an indy this time.

any advice on costs would be helpful.

Cheers

Ben

Can't speak for 147's but I replaced the discs and pads on my 164 for half the cost of Alfa Genuine parts.

front discs £33.69
front pads £44.34 (Lucas)
rear discs £22.54
rear pads £26.98 (Lucas)
All plus vat. = £175.08

That was a couple of years ago now. The Lucas pads are fine (and not too dusty), sensitive yet powerful. Not sure of the disc make but the part numbers start with NAP...(ie NAP NDB215)if that gives you any clue (factor may help here).

I just got new pads and discs ALL ROUND for my 156. Lockheed discs, Mintex pads. £100 for the lot inc. VAT. Impressed? I was! Buypartsby. My local garage fitted them for me for £40 (I get an Alfa specialist to do the specialist stuff like suspension and engine).
