The horn has stopped working. It's not a fuse and I only discovered it was working intermittently after I bought the car. Now it doesn't work at all. Took it to the local garage and was told it was a failure of the contact points on the steering wheel boss. To change that would be expensive. Anyone suggestions please?

There's a horseshoe pcb in the steering wheel behind the airbag its a known failure point , just replaced mine on the GT for £25

If you can solder there's the possibility of simply soldering in a wire to replace the broken PCB track. See the 'how to' at How to cure the horn push on an Alfa 156/147 and GT

Yep I done the mod a month ago works a treat saves you spending £25 all you need is bit of wire and solder and time only took about 40 minutes

Very easy , 3 hex screws at the backside of steering wheel , lift out airbag and the horse shoe is there. Give it a tug and it comes out, just disconnect and plug the new one in.


Some folks disconnect the battery because the airbag may go off but I didn't bother.

Job done. Got the spare from Autolusso for £22. Horn now working. Thanks for all your advice and links.
