Hi there, this might be a basic question to people (sorry), but Ive just bought a X reg 147. The keyfob battery is dead and i dont know if I can just buy another battery and change it.... Will the fob need re coding for the immobiliser etc??? Do I need to take it to an AR main dealer or could a normal locksmith shop sort it??

Any help appreciated, Thanks....

Takes 2 seconds to do, flip the key turn the little screw to the unlock position and the little plastic battery tray should pop out. They use a 2032 cell type battery which are readily available in most shops. I know Sainsburys sell them.

Battery Fob alfa 147ti 2006

Can someone help.

Both my fob have stopped working, not at the same time. One last year and now the other.

I have replaced battery on both, but still not working. I was wondering if there was a procedure to re activate the signal?

Cheers

I'm not sure whether or not the 156 and 147 keyfobs are the same, but on the 156, replacing the battery does not require any "re-activation" or anything like that. Just release the battery compartment, put in new battery and it's done.

Are you sure you have the correct specification batteries and they are the right way around?
If that's all correct, then all I can think is that the contacts between the battery and pcb may have shifted, although that's not likely.
