I've dropped one of the front wheels off for refurbishment and fitted the spare on the front right corner. Pulling out of the wheel repairers I noticed a rubbing noise coming from the front right corner.
The car also makes a noticeable rubbing/grinding noise which only manifests while coasting in gear. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. It goes away as soon as I touch the accelerator or coast in neutral. It's most noticeable in second to fourth gear?? Could it be because the normal wheel is 16' while the spare is a 15'. My thinking is that the spider gears in the differential are being forced to work all the time with two different sized wheels. If i rev the engine in neutral the noise also doesn't manifest.

I'm really hoping it goes away when I reinstate both proper wheels.

It actually seems to be rev related. If i rev then engine in neutral I can hear the noise. So I would assume something loose like a heatshield or bad tensioner.

#EDIT: It goes away when the clutch is depressed.
